Acoustic Artists CD Cover Research

Although I have already researched into existing album covers I am now going to look at the acoustic genre specifically as my chosen artist is an acoustic singer. It is important that I understand the forms and conventions of an album cover within this genre so that I can make it appeal best to my target audience. Below are the album covers of a few acoustic artists who share a similar target audience as my chosen artist.

From looking at these CD covers I can see certain trends that;

- Only the artist is featured on the cover.

-The location of the photos are in an open natural environment which connotes peacefulness and relaxation which relates to the genre of music.

-The Colours used on the cover are quite neutral including light blues, white, light greens and yellows.

-The artist is not directly addressing the audience and is looking away from or past the camera.

- The typography used for the artist name and album title is a combination of sans-serif fonts and serif fonts in the style of handwriting which gives it a personal feel.
